The Greater Vancouver Zoo is the largest zoo in British Columbia, and is considered one of the best B.C. attractions. The Greater Vancouver Zoo (GVZ) has over 800 animals on 120 acres of parkland. Among the animals featured in the Greater Vancouver Zoo are: giraffes, lions, hippopotamus, cougars, bears, wolves, camels, turtles, reindeer, zebra, tigers, jaguar, leopard, ostrich, snakes, frogs, birds rhinoceros, and many more wild species.

Children 2 years old and younger: Free admission.
Adult (16 yrs. - 64 yrs.): $16.00 per person
Child (3 yrs. - 15 yrs.): $13.00 per person
Senior (65 + yrs.): $13.00 per person
Family (2 adults, 2 children): $50.00 per family
Train Reservations: $5.00 per person
Parking : $3.00 per vehicle



Things To Do:

Safari Express Miniature Train Tour
This is a 12-15 minute narrated train tour that takes you around the perimeter of the zoo. Children 2 years old and younger are free of charge, but must sit on an adult's lap for safety reasons. On this tour learn facts about many of the exotic animals found in the Vancouver Zoo. During the Winter season, this tour may include the North American Safari Bus Tour. Cost is $5.00 for all others. Train tickets and departure times are available at the front admissions booth.

Whether your travelling as a couple, a family, or a corporate group, the Greater Vancouver Zoo has much to offer.

Free North American Wilds Safari Bus Tour
This is a 15 minute narrated bus tour that actually takes you inside our North American Wilds enclosure. You will be able to watch our bears, wolves, elk, and bison roam free in their natural habitat. Many interesting facts about our North American animals are also revealed on this safari-style tour. Tip: Keep your fingers and hands inside the bus!

During the Winter Season, this tour may run in conjunction with our Safari Express Miniature Train Tour. Please check with our Admissions staff for details. Directions to the North American Wilds Bus Tour are on our zoo map, or you can see our Admission Booth for further directions. (Availability of the North American Wilds Safari Bus Tour is subject to change at the discretion of the Greater Vancouver Zoo.)

$6.00 Admission per child (3-15 yrs)
$7.00 Admission per adult (16-64 yrs)
$6.00 Admission per senior (65yrs +)

Note: Attendants accompanying special needs students receive free admission.

Free North American Wilds Bus Tour (This is a non-reservable tour)

We require the following number of Free Chaperones:
Preschool Grade 3 = 1 free adult admission per 5 paying students
Grade 4 & over = 1 free adult admission per 10 paying students

Note: All school bookings must be pre-registered at least 2 weeks in advance. Please complete a registration form and fax/mail back to us. A confirmation will be sent out within 5 days. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us. You must have a minimum of 10 people.
