Though filled with an amazing array of art, most visitors to
the Vancouver Art Gallery bypass floors 1-3, excited to get to
the 4th floor gallery. This is where you’ll find the largest
collection of works by British Columbia’s best known painter,
Emily Carr. The other galleries have subjects ranging from photo
conceptual art to Group of Seven landscapes.
The works of art in this museum are housed in a 1911 courthouse
that was redesigned in the early 1980s. Stay a bit longer to shop
in the intriguing museum shop, walk through the sculpture garden
and have a bite to eat in the museum’s cozy café.
The museum is open daily and is located at 750 Hornby Street.
