The Vancouver General Hospital is one of two acute care facilities and is part of the Vancouver Hospital & Health Sciences Centre. This 950 bed facility offers residents of British Columbia a full spectrum of medical and surgical services. It is also the major patient care, teaching and research hospital in British Columbia. Also located within this hospital is the Mary Pack Arthritis Centre and offers clinical services for people with arthritis problems. The Vancouver General Hospital offers specialized and tertiary services to residents of Vancouver and to those requiring highly specialized services. The Vancouver General Hospital is affiliated with the University of British Columbia and is home to one of the largest research centres in Canada.
