Bright Nights in Stanley Park

Tel: 604-257-8531
Get in the Christmas spirit when you attend Bright Nights in Stanley Park, one of Vancouver's annual Christmas events. The children's farmyard, miniature train, and surrounding forest displays are lit with OVER a million tiny lights. The exhibit is open daily between November 30 and January 3, from 3pm to 10pm except December 25th. For your continued enjoyment, note that food and drink are available on site. Bright Nights is enhanced by entertainment, dozens of delightful animated displays and more ― carrying on the tradition started with the first Christmas Train over twenty-six years ago.

At least half of the tickets for each day's train rides will be set aside and only available for purchase on-site from 12:00 noon onwards on that same day. This means that even if Ticketmaster is sold out for that day, there will still be lots of tickets for sale on-site.

This event is very popular and train tickets sell out early on busy evenings. To avoid crowds, consider coming on Monday - Thursday during the first two weeks. The BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund displays are open at all times during the event.

For public safety reasons, Stanley Park may occasionally be closed due to inclement weather conditions such as high winds. We will do our utmost to notify the public if a closure happens by contacting local media with an advisory and updating messages on the Bright Nights Info line at 604-257-8531.

Plaza: There is no cost to view the plaza displays set up by the BC Professional Fire Fighters. The Burn Fund does accept donations at the front gate.

Important Note: For public safety reasons, Stanley Park may be closed due to inclement weather conditions such as high winds. We will do our utmost to notify the public if a closure exists by contacting local media with an advisory, and will update messages on the Vancouver Park Board Info Line at 604-257-8531.

Is Bright Nights ever sold-out?
Visitors can buy advance tickets from Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.ca or telephone 604-280-4444. Half of the tickets for each day’s train rides will be set aside and ONLY available for purchase on-site from 12:00 noon onwards from that same day. This means that even if Ticketmaster is sold out for that day, there will still be tickets for sale on-site. First come, first serve. If all tickets have been sold for a particular day (from Ticketmaster and on-site purchase), volunteers can encourage visitors to view the lighting display, which is never “sold-out”. Visitors can visit the lighting displays without riding the train or visiting the farmyard. We encourage visitors to donate to the Fire Fighters donations boxes located at the entrances to the event.

Directions

When you enter Stanley Park off Georgia Street, go straight ahead (don't turn right under the underpass) and through the Rose Garden. Follow the signs to parking. There is a limited number of accessible parking stalls right by the Plaza gate. Parking in the lots by Bright Nights is free after 3 pm.

Bright Nights is readily accessible by transit. The terminus for bus #19 is at the bus loop, right by the entrance to the Train Plaza. Check with TransLink at 604-953-3333 for more detailed information.
